We are a young couple based in Seattle, WA and food has always been a big part of our relationship. Our passion for cooking really stems from our love of eating, and sharing good food with our friends.
The recipes you will find on these pages have been in the making for many years. Many of them were never formally written down until now, but rather passed on by family and friends or created out of experimentation. When we cook, we rarely keep track of how much of each ingredient we put in the dish, rather you’ll find us sampling and adjusting a recipe for our taste at that moment. As a result, we frequently find new flavors in old favorites which keeps them coming back to the table. While I enjoy the freedom of experimentation, having a starting point – i.e. the recipes you find on this website – is a great way to collect our recipes and share them with you. I encourage all of you to take the recipes you find on basiltime.com and making them your own through experimentation.
